Noticed on the Satorialist a while ago, a girl wearing a sick hand painted surrealist leather bike jacket inspired by Guernica, and then this photo appeared in my inspiration folder. All hand drawn and illustrated by Claire Barrow, from ‘The Milk of Danzig,’ the jackets are pretty amazing. You can buy recent jackets here, or get her to customize one you’ve already got. The space puffer jacket is total amazingness.

So it’s been a while since I’ve been on the blog-bandwagon and I have been saving them up especially. A few weeks ago, my dear friend and fashion fabricator gave me the job of styling her photo-shoot of her most recent work ‘Future Amulets.’ Isabel Pradilla has created some weird and wonderful objects including jewellery, wigs and bags. Of course not of the conventional variety.
We set the scene in Dalston on a lovely sunny day with friends and models Djo and Pia. If you would like to see more of Isabels work please come and visit the MA Textile Futures exhibition, Central Saint Martins June 17th- 20th.

LAKE & LIBERTY; fairly new to the East London Fashion scene have just arrived into the spring with some fresh animal inspired bondage-wear. As I asked Liberty, product designer for Native Design, and bondage lover/maker at the weekends about the new wearables, she replied ‘It’s basically an outfit I made for Halloween last year, I wanted to be a bondage rat.’
Lake and Liberty first made their mark on Gaga when she was spotted wearing the victorian-esque leather collar. Keep them coming you two… The chastity belt is obvs my favourite. This may be the first purchase of the summer. <3

Agi & Sam, for their A/W 2011 presentation have produced an encyclopedic installation of fashion eclecticism. A & S strive to produce menswear which is wearable and fresh. Coming from fashion houses such as Mqueen and Lagerfeld, their work is derived from a passion for creating work which is both humorous and Virtual. Real Life.
The collection, hugely inspired by 90’s amazingness and Basquiat prints create a fusion of nostalgia and street wear. With references to potato smileys alongside colourful digital prints, the collection wasn’t made to be taken seriously which makes it work so well.
Obviously bespoke hand-printed and finished designs are extremely special, but the digital print is becoming more exciting and the breadth of experimentation that comes with it is growing. As well as the modern take on their digital print, A & S introduced an interactive element to the installation (3-D glasses) which provided a dreamy amalgamation of their colourful prints.
As for the finish, the loud, experimental make-up (by Ken Nakano) brought everything together. Print, process, styling all worked completely hand-in-hand. I am now looking forward to seeing A & S grow (and their next collection of course)…ps close-up make-up shot of the presentation to follow.

KTZ MENSWEAR A/W 2011 RUNWAY. Seriously impressed with the show on Wednesday… hugely inspired by the art deco movement and Bauhaus, lots of black, red, blue, stripes and cut out shapes. As for material development, fur worked well with clear pvc and the knitted balaclavas were complete amazingness… <3

The Dutch band De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig asked Lernert and Sander to create a music video for their song Elektrotechnique.
So they made a series of domestic sex machines. Get inspired!

I am sure that the bronzed cheeks are coming back for the summer; it’s been on the cards for a while. But now, I have a feeling that we will be seeing eyebrows being experimented on with a vibrant colour palette. Saw a couple of girls in East London recently with white brows in the last week. As the hair colour experimentation is growing, bleach and pale, we should see a high volume of girls with pretty coloured make-up soon. Looking forward to the traverse from gothic grunge mulberry lips to sun-blushed Monet paintings.
